Your skin cells work overtime on a quest to un-do the days’ damage, and products are able to penetrate better when you are not wearing make-up while you sleep and the skin can breathe.
By understanding the basic principles of how the skin changes throughout the day, we can better organise our routines by applying skincare products at optimal times of the day. For example, sunscreen during the day to reduce UV damage, and during night use glycolic for exfoliating, brightening and conditioning the skin, retinol for optimised DNA repair and richer moisturisers to ameliorate increased transepidermal moisture loss.
