With design and art at the heart of this unique hotel, the owners worked closely with architects Filotico & Partner and employed master artisans to assist in the respectful restoration of the historic structures and surrounding gardens. The design hotel in Puglia, Italy, wows with beautifully restored ceramic tiled flooring, retouched walls, replaced mouldings and restored ceiling frescoes, all while being perfectly balanced through the use of a hand-picked mix of antique and more modern art, designer furnishings and custom-made lighting. Contributing to an undeniable air of quiet refinement and authentic richness, the Castle Elvira is graced with decorative elements such as vaulted ceilings and an imposing marble staircase.
Designer furniture — from Arketipo sofas and Cattelan Italia chandeliers to Timothy Oulton beds and IB Rubinetti brass tapware — contemporary art and technology have brought the historic building of the design hotel up-to-date. All the art is for sale, including Harvey’s work, so walls often evolve as works are replaced.
