Gus Wüstemann founded gus wüstemann architects in 1997 in Zurich and, in 2004, opened his second office in Barcelona. Gus studied at the ETH Zurich and has lived and worked in Australia, India, England, and the U.S.A. Gus is co-founder and curator of Catalan-Architects. He frequently lectures within Europe and leads research workshops in the field of space design, architecture, and urbanism.
An international architect, Wüstemann sees urban design and architecture as tools that inspire and reach beyond social rank or aesthetic hierarchy. Throughout the studio’s work, the raw beauty of natural materials takes centre stage and combines with sophisticated yet minimalist designs to create living spaces or commercial interiors full of character. The practice has received multiple awards, with projects also published in a range of international magazines.
